The European Commission plans to send formal charges to Microsoft and Time Warner next week, listing objections to their takeover of ContentGuard Holdings, a source close to the situation said on Friday. The software giant and Time Warner asked the European Commission earlier this year for permission to acquire 50-50 ownership of U.S. firm ContentGuard, which makes technology to protect digital files from illegal copying. | ||
