The release of "Metropolis Street Racer" was something of a milestone in the racing genre. Often considered a homogenous genre of uninspired "Gran Turismo" and "Need For Speed" clones, it's rare to see something new crop up behind the virtual wheel. MSR dared to be different by challenging the player not only to drive against the competition, but also to look cool doing it. The kudos reward system was by turns loved and hated by gamers, but one cannot deny that it was definitely a step in a new direction. Bizarre Creations now brings us "Project Gotham Racing," a semi-sequel that refines and streamlines the concepts pioneered in MSR. Instead of one huge career mode to wade through, "Project Gotham" offers several modes in which to cruise the streets of four major cities: San Francisco, Tokyo, and London return from MSR, and New York City is the new kid on the proverbial block. | ||
