Government expected to sign new Microsoft deal | |

The government is expected to sign a three-year-deal with Microsoft, according to press reports. The Financial Times reports that Microsoft is planning to combat the increasing threat from open source software in the public sector by signing a new contract that will deliver much improved services and support for its software. Microsoft signed a massive £360m deal to provide software to the public sector at the beginning of 2002 (Computing 7 March 2002). | ||
