The former independent prosecutor in the Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky investigations, which led to former President Clinton's impeachment, will now play an increasingly integral role in the U.S. government's antitrust case against software titan Microsoft. Ken Starr, who has already worked on legal briefs for a trade group dedicated to splitting up Microsoft, has publicly discouraged the new Bush administration from settling the case. Starr's statements Thursday before a Progress and Freedom Foundation audience came just days before oral arguments are set to begin in Microsoft's appeal of a U.S. District Court ruling that would split the company in two. | ||
