America Online agreed yesterday to pay $435 million in cash for Advertising.com, a company that specializes in online direct marketing for mortgage companies, correspondence courses and the like. AOL said the acquisition would help it expand in online advertising, an area that is growing rapidly even as AOL's traditional dial-up Internet service shrinks. | ||
