Mac users can expect only a slight moderation in the rapid pace of Mac OS X upgrades, even after Apple releases the next version, code-named Tiger.

Apple intends to slightly moderate the pace of its Mac OS X operating-system upgrades after it releases the latest version, code-named Tiger, the company's chief software technology officer said Tuesday. But users can expect that the company will continue to regularly upgrade the operating system to take advantage of steady advances in the capabilities of the Mac hardware platform, Avie Tevanian said at the Software & Information Industry Association's Enterprise Software Summit here.
