This version of Windows Messenger has been updated to address the following:

  • You cannot enter credentials to connect to an HTTP proxy server in Windows Messenger 5.0 For more information on this update, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 835971.
  • You cannot transfer files from a multi-homed computer by using Windows Messenger 5.0. For more information on this update. For more information on this update, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 835972.
  • Windows stops responding and the Csrss.exe process consumes 100 percent CPU usage after Windows Messenger is installed. For more information on this update, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 835973.
