UR wins lawsuit over Microsoft | |

A U.S. District Court judge has ruled that Microsoft Corp. products infringe on patents for ink-jet printer technology developed at the University of Rochester. The ruling Monday involved a technology called “Blue Noise Mask” that speeds digital printing and improves its quality. Kevin Parker, dean of the UR engineering school, and Theophano Mitsa, a former graduate student who is now a University of Massachusetts faculty member, invented the technology. | ||
