Expanding its presence in China, Microsoft is opening a center in Beijing to develop new products based on its Asian research Microsoft announced the new Advanced Technology Center on Monday as it marked the fifth anniversary of its research and development lab in Beijing. Microsoft plans to employ 80 people in the new center, which will work on creating products aimed at Asian customers. Those products include digital ink and pen technology that allows people to input text without using a keyboard, which can be an advantage when dealing with Asian languages. The new center, which is part of Microsoft's Beijing lab, will help ``get technology advances into customers' hands at a quicker pace,'' said Rick Rashid, senior vice president of Microsoft Research. | ||
