Grossing over $100 million at the domestic box office this past summer, director Michael Bay reteamed with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for Bad Boys II, the sequel to their 1996 original. Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment will release the sensitive character study on December 9th as a feature-laden two-disc set, complete with 2.35;1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen transfers, a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround track, a "Production Diaries" documentary, "Visual effects" featurette, deleted scenes and scenes deconstructions, storyboards, a music video and trailers. No audio commentary is included. Retail is $28.95.
Also due for release on December 9th is most highly-acclaimed blockbuster of the year, Gigli. Starring the acting powerhouse known only as "Bennifer," this legendary fiasco should be hitting the Kmart bargain bins the week after release, and includes only widescreen and full screen transfers, Dolby 5.1 and 2.0 surround tracks and no extras. What, no two-hour documentary!? No Superbit? No Gigli Ultimate Edition!? Sigh. Retail is $26.95.
