Windows Messenger Update for Windows XP to Enable Consumers To Make PC-to-Phone Calls | |

With the widespread availability of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system just two weeks away, Microsoft Corp. today announced an update of the Windows Messenger real-time communications client, available Oct. 25, that will enable consumers to use their personal computers to make voice calls from their PCs to telephones via a choice of participating service providers within local regulations. Through real-time audioconferencing and videoconferencing, application sharing, online collaboration and instant messaging, Windows Messenger provides an intuitive, personal communication experience that enables people to see, talk, work and play with friends, family and colleagues via their PCs online and in real time. The update announced today takes these communication options one step further by enabling users of Windows XP to call even non-PC users on the telephone with an even easier-to-use Windows Messenger interface. | ||
