Official Microsoft beta testers have been alerted that the long awaited Release Candidate 1 of the upcoming updated Microsoft multimedia APIs, dubbed DirectX 8.1, has been released. This new beta release works only with Windows 98, Me and Windows 2000. Microsoft is possibly looking to release the final version of DirectX 8.1 in mid October. | ||
