Just in from Universal Studios Home Video is the announcement of three acclaimed television dramas making their DVD debuts on June 3rd. "Television doesn't get more arresting than the Emmy award-winning Law & Order franchise!", or so goes the press release. In any case, they certainly make enough spin-offs to prove their own point...

Both Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (each a separate release) feature the premiere episode only, plus the premiere episode of the original Law & Order. The specs indicate a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer on the spinoffs (the original premiere episode is in full screen) and no additional extras. Retail is $19.95 each.

TV fans can also pick up the premiere two-part episode of Monk, the comedic murder mystery series starring Golden Globe winner Tony Shalhoub. It streets on June 24th, and features a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and retails for $19.95.
