It's official. Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be returning as Buffy in the critically-acclaimed television series. Zap2it is reporting that sources close to the UPN series have confirmed that the actress will not be part of the cast should the show return in the fall. Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive with Gellar in the March 7 issue regarding her departure.

But fear not. She's back once to save the denizens of Sunnyvale from the creatures of the night ... at least on DVD. Fox Home Entertainment will unleash the six-disc Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete Fourth Season on June 10th in another feature-packed box set. Each episode is presented in 4:3 full screen (unlike in Regions 2 and 4 which are getting anamorphic widescreen presentations) and Dolby 2.0 surround, with plenty of extras: audio commentaries on the episodes "The Initiative," "Wild at Heart," "Hush," "This Year's Girl," "Superstar," "primeval," and "Restless," complete scripts for "Fear Itself," "Hush" and "Who Are You?", the featurettes "Spike," "Oz Revelations: A Full Moon," "Inside the Sets of Sunnydale" and "Season 4 Overview," and two still galleries. Retail is $59.95.
