In the wake of the Slammer worm, Microsoft posted to its Web site three tools designed to help users identify vulnerable instances of SQL Server 2000 on their network. Microsoft made the patching software available even as security experts said that the system of patches is fundamentally broken. Users simply can't keep up, and must look to alternatives, such as monitoring systems and services, to keep their networks secure from attacks. | ||
