"To try out the new sample transitions and effects, create the "AddOnTFX" directory in Movie Maker's "Shared" install directory i.e. "C:\Program files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX" and copy to it the XML files from the "XML" directory in this sample i.e. "C:\MMSTFX\XML\*.xml". Register the enclosed DLL "MMSTFX.dll" in the sample's "Bin" directory i.e. from the command line: "regsvr32 c:\MMSTFX\Bin\MMSTFX.dll." Run Movie Maker and look for the new transitions and effects." On a smaller note, this story is the 15000th that the Active Network staff has posted since we switched to the news management system (rather than manually editing HTML) in late 2000.
