This is the big one, for most of the marbles. Don't be misled: This is not about AOL.com vs. MSN. That's a sideshow. The real battle in the years ahead is going to be over who manages your personal information portfolio — that emerging Web-based application that will manage your billing, entertainment, medical records, calendar, phone book, etc. — and then further integrate that with your business files, investments, and so on. So think of this battle as a personal .NET vs. a supercharged myAOL. Microsoft will try to migrate to this from a gigantic .NET beachhead in the corporate world, the pitch being that as long as all of your professional life is already on .NET, you might as put your personal life there as well. | ||
