  Yamaha Announce New Portable CRW70 Burner

Yamaha today announced the imminent launch of a new portable CD recorder, dubbed CRW70. This new compact recording unit, is to date the fastest external portable CD burner. It will feature:

  • Burning speed of 12X (CD-R), 10X (CD-RW),
  • Reading speed of 24X,
  • USB 2 Interface For the Fastest Performance (compatible USB 1.1 with a 4X, 4X, 6X speed),
  • MP3 & CD-Audio Player,
  • LCD screen & headphone plug,
  • 8MB Buffer with SafeBurn Technology (for reliable burning),
  • On Top CD Loading system (no tray).

This new drive will target nomad users that are on the look for fast & reliable burners. Yamaha will likely released this burner in October 2001.
