Microsoft Windows and Office go Serbian | |

Microsoft Yugoslavia is preparing versions of Windows and Office in Serbian, including a Serbian language spell checker, according to a report in the Belgrade daily, Danas. The move has important consequences for the small IT market in Serbia and Montenegro, which has around 900,000 computers. Currently, international software companies that distribute software in the country do not have Serbian versions, but this move by the Redmond software giant is likely to encourage others to likewise. The government has recently invested a lot of effort in legalising and licensing software in Serbia and Montenegro, which may have influenced the move by Microsoft. | ||
