Conxion Corp., a leading global Internet infrastructure provider, has been chosen by Microsoft Corp. to electronically deliver the first release candidate of the new Microsoft Windows XP operating system for the Windows XP Preview Program. Conxion is also introducing a new ActiveX version of its Digital Delivery Manager product, which allows end-users to pause and resume the delivery process at their convenience, and enables real-time reporting on completed deliveries. The Windows XP Preview Program provides access to the milestone feature complete beta version “release candidate” of Windows XP Professional when it becomes available for electronic delivery. The program is available to consumers in the United States and Canada who subscribe to the program at www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/preview/overview.asp and agree to provide Microsoft with feedback over a two-month period. The public release date of Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional is scheduled for Oct. 25, 2001. “This is the first time that Microsoft has offered an electronic delivery of a 600 megabyte beta product to the general consumer,” said Antonio Salerno, CEO of Conxion Corporation. “XP is on the large end of the scale for file delivery, so this is a fabulous opportunity to demonstrate the capacity and speed of our network.
