Thanks go to Paul! The new Microsoft Alerts beta service provides Messenger users (and others) with alerts for events that they want to know about. While Microsoft Alerts service provides the delivery mechanism, the alerts themselves come from other companies called alerts providers. Microsoft Alerts displays your alerts and manages their delivery, but you go to each provider's site to choose the kind of alerts you want from what they offer. This new Microsoft’s first “service” is slated for release in August/September and the actual version is a beta one. Third party partners, like UPS, American Express, eBay and the like will be active around the time that XP hits the streets in October. | ||
