Microsoft-led group warns US government off open source | |

An organisation backed by Microsoft, Cisco and Intel is arguing against the promotion of open-source software by the US government. The US Defense Department has been told it should think twice before embracing open-source software by the Initiative for Software Choice, which counts Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Intel among its backers The group said the department should "avoid crafting needless and potentially detrimental IT policy to promote the use" of open-source software. | ||

Let me preface this by saying that I have sympathy for both Israel and for the Palestinians... BUT: To say it's "THEIR" land is to pick a very proximate time span. Jews WERE Palestinians before they were forced out by persecution by both the Romans and, eventually, the Christians. So, in a very real sense, they are returning to "THEIR" land. The fact is, the only reason these people can't live together is because of the "my God is better than your god" crap... they are able to segregate their societies via religion, and through this they are able to focus hate. Think about it... what is special about that very small piece of land that was giving by the UN to the Jews? It isn't more fertile. It isn't any different geographically. It's not like there isn't enough room over there. The ONLY difference is the fact that there are irrational symbols of irrational beliefs there... Anyway, there are points on both sides of the argument... but, to tell you the truth, the points don't matter. These people hate each other... the "arguments" they offer are simply to make believe it's some kind of rational debate. It's not a rational debate, and it can therefore not be solved through talks, or deals, or anything like that. These people have been brainwashed through many decades of hatred, and there isn't a whole lot we can do about it. (Maybe we should irradiate the whole area so NOBODY can have it. Of course, that might be a PR problem.) |

Do you think it was by accident that most of the hijackers were from Arabia? Nay, that was by design. The chief goal of Osama bin Laden is to get the US out of Saudi Arabia.
What better way to accomplish that goal than to promote antagonism between the two countries? Again, yes Saudi Arabia has some issues that they need to deal with. I think the US should put some pressure on them with regards to their placating religious authorities. But given the right circumstances, the people within that country will demand better. Especially after incidences like those school girls getting burned to death because the Religious Authority wouldn't allow the fire department into the building because the girls were without veils. |
