Review: Plextor PX-712A DVD recordable drive

Overclockers Online has posted the first review of Plextor's new 12x DVD recordable drive, the PX-712A. Capable of writing at 12x on some DVD+R media, the drive also offers 8x DVD-R and 4x DVD-RW/+RW speeds. Here's a snippet from the review:

After a fair bit of testing, and mammoth amounts of DVD writing, I must say I�m very impressed with this drive. The noise level is quite acceptable and if you have lots of fans going on in your case, you probably won�t notice the drive operating. With an 8 MB buffer onboard coupled with its buffer underrun proof technology this drive leaves no room for coasters.

Advantages

Disadvantages
High-speed media is rare and expensive Drive may be too expensive for some users to afford
