| This is Microsoft's own fault by not allowing a full upgrade to Win 8 OS. Who wants to buy a phone when a newer, improved one will be available in 4 months? Another mistake was not having Phone 7 “encryptable” from the get-go so the corporate world would adopt. That said, in 4 months this may be irrelevant. My company is in the early stages of BYOD and there is a lot of talk about Windows 8. Personally, if they offer a stipend, I will be all in on Windows 8 because I think the Hub and active tile metaphor is super to iOS and android. Moreover, the app store just passed 100,000 apps (the second fasted to do so behind the iPhone). I know that Apple has over 5 times as many apps but the difference is largely in flashlight and fart apps. |

| Rant time. MS tried to convince consumers that the inferior specification of Windows Phone 7 hardware didn't matter. After all, WP7 "smokes" the competition. Now, MS says WP7 hardware won't support a full update to Windows Phone 8. No wonder people stay away from Windows Phone. |

I will never again trust my hard earned cash to anything Microsoft hardware related, short of an Xbox maybe.
They bail out too quick when it doesn't turn massive profits immediately, leaving customers unsupported. Never again. |
