Yes, it is quite remarkable. The hardware acceleration of graphics and video render objects like nothing else out there.
The preview is a bit more difficult to work with - there is no chrome - so for sights that render like ass under IE 7/8 (by intent and design - Engadget, for example), one has to enter in the URL within properties and save it as a new shortcut. Of course, the objectives for the preview are very different - for devs, but one can get a pretty decent idea of how it will perform. It kicks the heck out of any other browser in terms of performance. The days of having some DOM, or animation object taking out the entire CPU will be over and the likes of Chrome are going to scramble to add some form of crude hardware GPU rendering support. |
