If you're among the select group of invitees to Microsoft's "Early Feedback Program," you can start sending in your ideas for what you'd like to see fixed, changed and/or added to the next version or two of Windows. Microsoft notified the selected testers on December 19 that they were free to start submitting suggestions immediately, via the Microsoft Connect Web site. | ||

A very cool download manager that will allow IE to find, and download, to any location, media files - podcasts/netcasts, etc...
I'd like to see MS and the recording industry fully sort out support for cable/sat card support for Windows Media Center. Along those same lines, I'd like to see the ability to RIP DVD's into the DVD library so they may be shared on any home PC, or connected TV/extender - there were rumors of this being possible in Vista at some point. Native support for wireless HD video would be very welcome - why have to have the PC/host so close to a display? Finally, I'd like to see a UC, or Unified Communications client that serves as an interface for inclusion at any appliction dev'd under .NET - much as the control for presence is available. |

#4, It's illegal to break copy protection with the intent to violate the copy protection. So if a DVD were ripped to a protected format that would not allow distibution outside of how Vista's WMC would be able to share that content, I think it could be made to work.
I think everyone who reviews DRM/protections of any kind, recognizes that such protections hurt people who are making legal use of such content. I think that Microsoft has a chance to work with content owners to come up with a solution that would allow people to make full use of their DVD collections across their own networks - maybe via a DNIe capable changer, controlled by WMC, or actual ripping to the WMC's drive [both being preferred]. |

AIGLX type features on Vista would be nice:
http://beryl-project.org/userguide.php .... any linux distro with AIGLX/Beryl enabled rips Vista's hardware assisted GUI to pieces. |
