Microsoft will sell a version of Windows for high-performance computing--a niche in which rival Linux is blossoming--with a first version planned for the second half of 2005. As first reported by CNET News.com, the Windows Server 2003 HPC Edition will include features for running windows on clusters of machines interconnected by a high-speed network to form a single computing resource, Microsoft said in a statement Wednesday. | ||

Datacenter server and this article aren't really really related. It is discussing using cheap x386 boxes and doing parallel execution shared by many boxes.
Sort of like the SETI screensaver that splits pieces of data, to thousands of computers to process. But this uses high speed interconnects and other assorted goodies. BTW, DataCenter is an OS, that has specified configurations. This helps eliminate one of the major reasons of windows instabilities, bad drivers by HW manufacturers. humor |

#9 These are made to use hundreds of cheap boxes clustered together...datacenter is focused on tested sw/hw configs and holds the hw manufacturer responsible for integrity (drivers) and those boxes cost quite a bit (up to a very powerful 32 proc systems)...these you could throw on some blade servers or racks of dells. But there quite a few now...but I never use anything but standard and enterprise. humor |

| I would suggest an RSS news reader...you can have 1000 articles saved if you want. On Windows, Feeddemon is my number 1 pick ($30), Sharpreader is good as well (free). For other platforms, just search for RSS on download.com. (ps - there is a plugin for firefox too) |

Well then just add it as part of the core .. ie on every cd install make it just an option to install the HPA cluster node or something;.. I'm just getting a little sick of the multitude of variations lately between 2003,xp\mediacenter,64bits,and winmobil..etc. The more versions the more complicated this is going to get to write software for properly. Not that big a deal, just annoying me.
