The whole dog food concept has never been more important to Microsoft or potentially difficult. The company now has more enterprise software testing at one time than perhaps any other time in its history. Testing products include Exchange Server 2003, Office 2003 and Real-Time Communications Server, SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Windows Messenger 5, among others. ZDNet UK's sister site CNET News.com spoke with Rick Devenuti, Microsoft's chief information officer, about the practice and how it affects the company. | ||

| Well, they don't always eat their own dogfood. My current pet peeve is that I have a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer on Windows 2003 Server, but their stupid drivers do not install on the OS yet. With the 3 years of Beta and a couple of months of release, and their HUGE push for hardware quality management and driver certifications, I am appauled that they do not support their own OS yet. I think the manager of their mouse division should either be fired, or at the minimum, take his mouse away until he gets a working driver.... make him use the keyboard only! |
