Microsoft Bars Office 11 From Windows 9X | |

The Redmond, Wash., software company last week confirmed its decision to make its forthcoming Office 11 suite compatible with only Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later operating systems, including Windows XP. The move will affect as much as 60 percent of Microsoft's installed base of pre-SP3 users. Customers said this latest attempt by Microsoft to force them into upgrading follows the company's past moves to phase out support for older products and to push users to upgrade to its new licensing agreements. | ||

| I thought it was slated to be released in mid 2003 (about six months from now) about two years from when Office XP was released. |

I am sure that there is someone bitching that Office 10 doesn't work on Window 3.11.
Why would someone running windows 95 invest $400 (i think that is roughly the price) in Office 11 *not happening* |

Office 11 is evolutionary aslo SPH.
Office 12 will be revolutionary in its programming side, but will in essense be Evolutionary. Except that Office 12 will become the Enterprise Front end for the servers. Think Greenwich, Kodiak (exchange) the CRM servers etc. The front ends will be Office or Office like. El |
