Thanks Josh. Microsoft this week will introduce a test version of Windows XP that significantly boosts the abilities of instant messaging software to provide text, chat, video, audio and telephony services. Dubbed Windows Messenger, the product is Microsoft's effort to bundle other communication technologies with Internet instant messaging and to gain an advantage over rival AOL Time Warner. | ||

| AOL owned the top two largest messenger products: AIM and ICQ and they still can't stay at the top. MSN and Yahoo have taken over most of AIM's market and ICQ is nearly nonexistant. AOL is just a retarded, poorly managed, customer-gouging poor-service providing overcharging bohemoth with no clue. Merging with TimeWarner was about the smartest thing they could've done, because their days are numbered, and at least they can die in company instead of alone. |
