The Active Network was born on August 25, 1997 when founders Byron Hinson, Robert Stein, and Wayne Flyers opened the ActiveIE.com website for the first time as a small hobby to provide the best information about Microsoft’s newly released Internet Explorer 3. Our gem, ActiveWin.com is the result of the conversion of the original website into roughly what you see today and was born on June 25, 1998. With the goal of providing the latest Microsoft company news, information, downloads, reviews, drivers, tips, support, software/hardware news, FAQs and much more this site was able to attract loyal viewers which ensure the prosperity and growth of this network.
From conception on, we have been devoted to expanding our content to provide the most essential and up-to-date information available to our audience. Due to advancements in technology, we have been able to create a more advanced site that provides us with the ability to streamline the delivery of news and content to our users in an efficient manner. We are constantly generating improved and more proficient methods of serving our users. Realizing that our audience is a group of well-informed, technologically advanced individuals with information and concepts to share, we have implemented various user feedback features such as “story comments” and public discussion forums. Through these outlets, our users can better express their needs and we can get a better feel for how our website might be able to satisfy those needs.
Since our first draft of ActiveIE on pipex.co.uk, our main goal has been to provide the best information to our audience. Thus far, we have been able to adequately meet the needs of our loyal and devoted users and hopefully we will be able to continue this success well into the future. Constantly we are in consideration of our users as we try to determine better ways to suit them. We hope to continue expanding and improving in a variety of ways in order to remain your “Most Activated Ultimate Resource” on the Internet today.
