My brother has a gateway computer running windows 7 and has wireless internet through the broadband connection. the broadband goes through a linksys gt701d but on the computer it says No Internet Access. There's excellent signal quality, and bytes being sent and received through linksys, but you can't actually get on the internet that way: you have to go through the broadband connection. Because the linksys isn't working properly i-pods can't find an internet connection, or the ps3. Any ideas as to what the issue is?

I can't figure out how the computer is getting a wireless connection through the broadband if the linksys isn't working... it's boggling my mind. On the actualy linksys router the internet light isn't lit up.

If the internet light is not on you may or may not be connected, but the router's status will tell that story. If your brother actually is connecting through this device, it may be hard coded to his mac address. One last thing. I am not clear about how you are distinguishing a connection to the linksys vs broadband. Can you clarify? ---------------------------------------------- Tim Summers Guardian Technology Solutions http://www.gtstechs.com
