Hi all, OK, having tons of trouble instaling XP on my laptop. I bought a laptop from work, they had to wipe the drive (company policy). I have XP pro disk (not bootable). Ran bootdisk with ROM support so I could use CD Rom. Put XP disk in. Changed directory to I386. Ran winnt.exe. It goes through the motion then tells me that I do not have sufficient space to install and tells me to exit. I am assuming it thinks it is installing on the CD? (I have a 40GB HD) Do I have to format the disk, or run Smart drive?!? I am lost. It is probably something simple, but beyond my limited knowledge. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Knowing the make and model of the laptop would help. If you go into the BIOS setup (usually be pressing F2 as the laptop starts) you can configure the boot order to put the DVD drive as the first boot drive. That should allow the laptop to boot from the XP CD. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf MacBook Pro 15" (Intel i5 2.40GHz), Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate , Photoshop CS5

I think I may be able to get my hands on original XP disc so that should solve all my problems. Thanks for you help! [emote|:)]

I’m not sure what you are talking about, but if you have computer problems of internet connection is very slow, you can try a software tuneup360, it's really helpful~~
