Hi all: New to this but wondered if someone could point me in the right direction. My hard drive has been warning me that it is full. When I look at the program registry I can't come up with more than about 2.5G taken up by programs (I have an 80GB hard drive). While running file compression I noticed that there were two files, one called svchost.exe and explorer.exe that between them showed over 50,000 KB. When I do a file search for each I only come up with files that take up a few hundred KB. Why are these files so big? Where are they? Do they contain alot of info that can be deleted? Is that why my hard drive is so full? Thanks in advance. Tom

First, what OS are you running? If it's a Windows version (XP, Vista, 7), go under Windows Explorer and click on My Computer. WinXP will give you the total size and free space in numbers, and Vista and 7 will show it graphically. Second...don't...DO NOT delete any files if you don't know what you're doing. SVCHOST.EXE and EXPLORER.EXE are both vital files. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf MacBook Pro 15" (Intel i5 2.40GHz), Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate , Photoshop CS5
