Hi guys, I'm having some issues with my computer. For a start I can't open Internet Explorer or download new versions of IE. Also, I can't download ANYTHING. When I try to download an empty window box appears. At the moment the only browser I can use is MSN. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks [emote|:)]

Chances are you have either a virus or malware that's trashed your computer. What antivirus/security suite are you using? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

Optus Internet Security Suite 2009. The virus/malware is also preventing me from opening Internet Options. Is there a way to get rid of these viruses or will I just have to buy a new anti-virus?

You may want to first try using something like Spybot to check for malware, and perhaps a trial download of Kaspersky first. FYI, I'd personally recommend switching to Kaspersky once you get this fixed. My gut tells me that damage may have already been done to the OS where the best solution may be a clean install. i.e. back up all your data, delete the partition(s) and reinstall the OS. Without having more specifics, that may be your fastest course of action, vs. trying to figure out what all has been messed up. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
