i dont remember how to get my sound back onmy computer after reformatting it i will post the results from "belarc"

First, is this a store bought computer (i.e. Dell, Gateway, HP, etc) or a "custom" built? If one of these, check the respective websites for the specific drivers.
Another idea to try is to do the following: Go to Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System and choose the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Under Sound, Video and Game Controllers you should see one or more items with a yellow !. Right click and choose uninstall for all, and reboot your computer. Windows XP should connect to the internet upon reboot and try and locate the drivers.

its not under that tab its under the other devices tab.. in the sound, video game and controllers tab nothing has a yellow!.

You may purchase the new sound card.
It only worth 7 to 10 US Dollars.
You'll also get Sound Drivers for that also.
Just Install it & I'm sure you'll get the sound.

Get the model number or something for your motherboard and go search the site *assuming your using on board sound* it should be a Realtek AC '97 or something like that and just download the drivers for that and install, should help
