| Hi there, i was wondering if anyone could assist me in fixing my pc somehow. It's only about 5months old and am now having some serious issues with it. Firstly, programs like internet explorer, firefox and windows live messenger crash continously, stating they have encountered a problem and need to close. Secondly, exec files are always found to be corrupt, unabling me to install new programs. Although i do have Ad Aware SE Professional and Spybot search and destroy both running, i often have problems with these programs also. Spybot, when loading up, states that ''the application has been changed since it was created. Since Spybot S&D does not change itself, we recommend you check your system for malware instantly' Although my searches find none. Adaware also has problems, often stating the the file definitions are corrupt and cannot be read. Symantec Antivirus often gives errors when updating virus definitions, stating it is 'Unable to update virus and security-risk definitions on your computer. Make sure your system disk is not full and then run Liveupdate again' Combined with all this, the computer often crashes onto the blue screen of death at random times, despite my pc being quite new. The specs are: Dual core 2.6ghz AMD processor. 2GB Dual channel memory, MSI 8600 GT OC edition graphics card. Can anyone suggest anything i can do to fix any of these problems? | Quick and dirty - it sounds like you've either got a severe malware/worm or virus infection that's messed everything up. If you're able to, back up your data and then do a clean install. One recommendation I'd make is to use something other than SomeAntics (Symantec).
