[Arial][/Arial] My main pc crashed recently after a nice virus came and swiped some info from it! after running the xp set up disc everything seemed fine? untill I went to connect to the internet? no connection was found, reinstalled my modem etc from my set up disc no problems there! but cannot get it to work. there is no problem with my internet connection modem or supplier as im using another pc to write this. I have tried creating a new connection, but this doesnt work! @ssume there is a problem in my registry BIOS or such like? Im a complete pc novice so is there a website i can download from, find info about this problem, or is there someone on here who can help? ---------------------------------------------- dkm

Did you do a clean install (i.e. have WinXP reformat the HD) or just try and do a repair? Also, are you connecting via a dial-up modem or via DSL or Cable? Lastly, does your ISP require a login name and p@ssword to authenticate you? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
You should try repair your system file by running "sfc /scannow". If does not work, you should do a clean install. ---------------------------------------------- Adblock Pro : Make your browser faster and cleaner with no ads
