I just bought an Asrock P4VM890, put in 1gb of PC3200 RAM, 2.4 P4, and my old 40gb ATA seagate. I initially tried to set up my 250gb SATA but it wouldn't recognize it so I was gonna use my old drive as master and later put in the SATA as a slave. I got into setup before but I reset comp because it wouldn't go more than halfway through copying windows files. After changing around the CDROM drive and plugging my 40gb back in, I tried reseting and booting from the CD. My HDD jumper is on master and so is my CDROM, the HDD is on IDE1 and CDROM is on IDE2. I get the "press any key to enter setup" but my keyboard won't regognize input, it works initially on the boot (I can hit F2, etc) but right after it starts booting from CD/HDD it shuts off. On top of that, a few seconds after the press any key prompt appears, I get a NTLDR missing prompt. Any ideas on what might be wrong? TY

Check with your mobo mfgr to see if there's a specific HD controller you need to install at the startup of the install process of WinXP. You'll see a text message saying Press F3 to install a third party driver. That's where you need to have either a floppy or CD with the driver ready to pop in and install. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
