First thought - did this start after downloading/installing something from the internet? Second thought - have you installed the latest version of Flash player? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100

Back to my first question - when did this start - i.e. after installing a new piece of software or downloading something from the internet? Next thought would be spyware/malware. Download one (or more) of the free spyware checkers to check for any little nasties. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
Originally Posted by Zaspod: i have adaware, pest patrol, norton 06, XP tools, executive diskkeeper pro, and a few other maintenance programs
Several suggestions: 1. Ditch pest patrol. I've seen this screw up more machines. 2. Ditch Norton 06. It's laden with problems (along with being a resource pig). Take a look at Avast (free) antivirus. 3. Go easy on the number of utilities that you have running in the background. Utilities that automatically load at startup will consume RAM and slow a system down. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
