Only your monitor need replacement. Something happen to your monitor when your not around. Using an old CRT monitor might crack up your files. You just need to replace your monitor if its dim. It's like a television. I agree with glen20. Just replace the monitor. Keep an eye on your monitor resolution and you should be ok.
