| I'll bet your ISP logs you in by recognizing the MAC address of your computer. Do you have MAC Address Clone set up on your old Netgear? | It's not Windows problem, it's a PEBCAK problem. You've just provided additional info you hadn't provided before (i.e. connecting your Xbox thru your computer). | First, check with your mom and then the cable company as to how they identify that your connection is you. I'd bet that it's via the MAC address on your computer. The Netgear router is probably set to broadcast the MAC address of your computer so that the cable company thinks it's you. You're new router has to be set up to do the same. Write down the physical address when you go to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all (and hit enter). From there, you'll have to access the router (check the router's instruction manual) and there should be a MAC Address Clone option or tab. Enter in the address there, save and exit.
