Several things to check: 1. Check to make sure that the power supply is adequate and function properly 2. Check to make sure there is adequate cooling (i.e. all fans are working properly, heat sink properly seated on CPU) 3. Check to make sure everything is seated properly 4. Double check the hard drive. There was a problem on some older Maxtor drives (bearings went out) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100

If there was a problem with the video card, the visual enhancements that the drivers add (i.e. 32bit color, etc) may reveal a heating/defective card. Suggestion - swap the video card for another and see what happens. i.e. If you're running an ATi card, swap it for a different (even older model - i.e. you have a 9500, try a 9200 or even 8700) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100
