You need to provide a little (actually, a lot) more information about your computer, and the software installed before anyone can even suggest a solution. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800; ATi Radeon 9500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional

My scarcastic side says the crashing is because it's a Compaq. My A+, Net+, MCP experience says it's because it's a Compaq. All kidding aside (well...), if when you say crashing, it reboots, the power supply may be dying. Take a look also at the RAM. I'm assuming this is a desktop. Most IT pros would sway you away from a Compaq. They don't have a good reputation for reliability or longevity. If you need to replace it, take a look at Dell, Alienware or Gateway. Steer clear from a "custom" built computer by a shop as you don't know the type/quality of components.sarcastic ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800; ATi Radeon 9500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional

Yeah...maybe I was a little hard on Compaq. My main concern is that the problem started after installing MS Office. Can you tell us what other software is installed? Also, how much RAM does the machine have (and is it a desktop or laptop). Also, what loads at startup (i.e. what's in the startup folder). ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800; ATi Radeon 9500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional
