Yes all of this can easily be done but only if the computer is a member of a domain. I assume from your message that this is not the case and that the computer is a standalone system. In that case you will need to use a third-party tool to accomplish this. Unfortunatly I am not familiar with any good ones. If I am mistaken and the system is a member of a domain, let me know and I will post detailed steps on how to accomplish what you asked. Andrew

You can set the time of day restrictions and enforce an automatic time out logoff in Group Policy but you can't restrict the total hours over a given period. To set the above policy follow these steps: Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Active Directory Users and Computers In the left column expand the domain you are interested in (there may be only one). Click on the Users container. On the right column, right-click on the user you want to modify and select Properties. Select the Account tab. Click on the Logon Hours button. Adjust the hours to either allow/deny the user the ability to logon at that time of day. If you want to have a user logged out when there time expires you will need to create a new Group Policy Object (you could also modify an existing one). In the left hand column, right-click on the domain and select Properties. Select the Group Policy tab. Click the New button to create a new policy. Name your new policy like "Logoff user when time expires". Select it and click the Edit button. This will bring up the Group Policy editor. In the left hand column expand Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options. In the right-hand column, double-click on "Automatically logoff users when logon time expires", check the box for "Define this policy setting" and set it to Enabled. Close everything. It may take up to 1hr for the policy to become effective among all the computers in the domain. Hope this helps.
