Have you applied sp1? I've seen some systems do this, but randomly. I think this is a bug in sp1 i don't know of any resolution, sorry.

Check your ISAPI filters to make sure that the .asp file extension is being handled. If entry has been deleted, then IIS won't know how to process .asp files.
