I rolled out SP3 to all my production servers:

2 Domain Controllers (Active Directory),
2 File Servers (one running NTP's Quota Manager),
some application servers running mostly Computer Associates' applications (TNG, Backup, Antivirus,...),
2 Internet Information Servers,
3 MS SQL Server 2000,
and some workstations, all previously running Windows 2000 SP2.

The only problem I get is on one workstation: Internet Explorer 6 crashes accessing some web pages containing both unencrypted and encrypted (SSL) objects.
However, I can access the same page from another workstation, running Windows 2000 SP3 + IE 6 as well, without any problem. I don't know if it depends on SP3.

In conclusion, I really think it's worth upgrading!

I think this article describes my problem:
NTLM Authentication Over an SSL Connection Does Not Work in Internet Explorer 6 (
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q325662)

Actually, I try to access a website configured to accept only NTLM (NT Challenge Response) authentication.

I'm gonna request that damned fix!
