That's not gonna happen. Windows 98 will not be supported after June 30, 2003, which is very soon. Right before windows 95 was retired, new versions of directx and ie weren't released for win95. For instance you cannot install ie6 on win95. The reason this was done was simply because what happened if people on win95 installed ie6 and had problems? Who would they call for help?

Win98 is almost retired and all new versions of directx, media player, ie, will not be for win98. Microsoft already has no problems to include usb2 support in windows 98, or any new technology. So your better off staying with what you have now. If you want new technology upgrade to windows xp.
